Privacy policy
Zenith Lens publishes an independent first-home buyer guide from Suite 7, 15 Moore Street, Canberra ACT 2601. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It is not a GDPR notice and it is not a CCPA notice. Those regimes are not the law we are describing here.
Updated 12 October 2026. Questions: privacy@zenithlens.com or +61 2 6162 4738, Monday to Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM AEST (AEDT in daylight saving, October to April).
Who we are
The publisher is Zenith Lens, the editorial name of this guide. We are not a bank, a mortgage broker, a conveyancer, a law firm, or a health practice. We do not seek credit information, and we do not want copies of identity documents in the contact form.
What we collect
If you write to us, we collect the name, email address, telephone number if you give one, topic, and message you submit. The server also records the time, your IP address, and the user-agent string, because the form is rate-limited and because we keep a security log. If you email or telephone, we keep what you send and a note of the reply.
We do not ask you to create an account. We do not run advertising cookies. A hosting company may keep ordinary server logs of requests to the site. Those logs are for security and operation, not for building a marketing profile.
Why we collect it
We use the form details to answer you, to correct a guide, and to see patterns of abuse such as repeated automated posts. The IP address and user-agent support that security purpose and the limit of five form posts an hour from one address. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it to assess credit.
Who sees it
Mail from the form is addressed to scope@zenithlens.com, with your email as the reply address, so a human at the desk can answer. Hosting and email providers process that material on our instructions. Some of those providers may hold data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to deal only with providers who handle personal information with care appropriate to a small editorial site. We do not disclose your message to a lender, including any lender named in a guide.
Storage
Form entries are written to a log on the server, or to a fallback log if the first location cannot be written. We keep correspondence for as long as we need it to handle your question and to show what the site said if a correction is later disputed, and then we delete it or de-identify it. Security logs may be kept for a shorter operational period. No method of storage is perfect. Please do not send passport numbers or tax-file numbers.
Access and correction
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, and you may ask us to correct it, by writing to privacy@zenithlens.com. We will respond within a reasonable period. If we refuse a request we will say why, unless the law says we should not. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to us first. If you are still not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:

Direct marketing
We do not send newsletters. A reply to your message is not a mailing list. If that ever changes, we will say so before we send anything optional, and you will be able to refuse.
